So what’s this all about then?

GOT is designed very simply for the purpose of posting opinion, receiving feedback and starting conversations about things that matter in photography within a a circle of respected friends, and talented photographers .

It’s also designed to encourage humour as well as serious critique and perhaps to help photographers who have lost their mojo and are looking to reclaim it. It’s not designed to be boards, it’s not designed for those who aren’t shooting and I’d like to think it’s aimed at the serious photographer who cares about make a visual difference rather than discussing the more banal elements of the art.

I hope you see benefit in trying out something like this and I look forward to some good discussion!

Let’s try this again…

Okay, so the first attempt was a tongue in cheek attempt to see if the idea would stick, There’s clearly a need for something like GrumpyOldTogs, but the will needs to be there to support it. Let’s see if a refresh does the trick…

This is really simple folks, the website will allow posts in the classic WordPress mode but will also have forums that are currently structured as..

  • Digital. Focusing on all things digital from workflow to processing, publishing and printing
  • Analogue. Discussing film, development, printing, scanning and all things related
  • Critique. For those brave enough to want to share a shot to have it critiqued by a trusted community
  • Projects. For folks interested in looking for project ideas or collaborating on a project

Hey, it’s open for expansion but I though it’d be good to start small, but happy to host related private/closed forums also.  Appropriateness of content will be determined by the group for anything that’s obviously free of  legal issue!

If you’re interested in joining up, fire off a mail off to me and let me know your preferred username.  I’m going to keep it fairly closed for a period to see if this is worth doing at all.
